"We're Back!"

Hello everyone and welcome to our blog! It has been a long time since I have been able to access my blog and this is a test, more or less! You can expect more from me over the coming months and I believe it will be very educational and fun for our friends and families here at Chubby's Tropical Adventures!

For now, I have posted some random pics, however, stay tuned for a more interesting format as we go into the new season. We will include more about shelling, wildlife, fun and adventure on the water around the islands of Ft. Myers Beach and Sanibel.

It has been a wonderful year for us here at Chubby's. What a ride! Fishing, dolphin tours, sunset charters, trips to Cabbage Key, shelling adventures, swimming in crystal clear water and sunshine galore. It's gonna get better and better so come along and enjoy the fun!

This year, in addition to our Private Charters, we have instituted a $50 per person, two hour dolphin or two hour sunset/dolphin tour to accommodate those who are looking for a small group experience but not a private charter. We only take a maximum of 6 people so you can always expect personal service and attention on our cruise. You will share the boat with others but that's not a bad thing.  here is a 2 person minimum for us to cruise for this price (and 6 person maximum).

Just to keep you up to speed, summer time brings afternoon  and evening rain and storms. This limits our ability to provide safe and comfortable cruises at times so we monitor the weather and adjust our cruises as necessary. Your safety is my number one concern! If we can leave the dock we will but I will not hesitate to return to the dock to protect you! We will adjust (prorate) our fee to compensate for an early return. Certainly our goal is to make memories of the "good" kind for you and your family and friends and will do everything in our powers to make sure your experience is the best!

If you work in the hospitality field here on Ft. Myers Beach (and I know who you ARRRRR!), we will be offering "Hospitality Prices" for groups of six during August and September. So get a group together and give me a call I will make it easy on you to go out on a two hour cruise!

Aloha everyone!

Hello all and WELCOME TO SUMMER TIME!

It has been a wonderful month here on the Island with Chubby's Tropical Adventures. We have been busy. If this is an indicator, the month of July should be very busy. Chubby showed up all over the place as we traveled around the islands enjoying the sunny days here in Southwest Florida.

If you have not spent time here please come and visit us. We are in our typical weather pattern where the mornings are beautiful and calm, the afternoon rains and storms roll through and then the night gives way to beautiful sunsets.

The fishing is beginning to pick up some, after Andrea came through it seemed to have slowed down the bite some. We have been catching plenty of sharks, including black tip, bonnet head and even some bulls, and of course the catfish and lady fish are out in number. Mangrove snapper, redfish and some nice snook are out there feeding on live shrimp and cut bait too. They say snook season will open again on September 1 so we are anxiously awaiting the season. We even caught a few pompano in the bay this past week so things are looking up for a good summer catch.

The sunsets have been awesome against the summer clouds which seem to explode in color as the sun goes down across the Gulf. As always the afternoon is iffy weather wise with the storms developing but they are short lived. Mornings are excellent for trips and most evenings for sunset. We can book and watch the weather regardless and most of the time get the trip in. We are blessed here on the island to have he weather "skirt" us most of the time.

Enjoy the pics from Chubby's and come to see us for boating adventures in the islands!
